The Steeplechase Arborvitae Tree (Thuja standishii x plicata 'Steeplechase') is a fast growing dense, broadly pyramidal shrub with fine textured, rich green foliage. An ideal hedge or screen as well as a specimen. Great for all climates. Due to its smaller size, it even works well in landscapes that are not large. Compared to many Arborvitae, it has a faster rate of growth, adding around 2 feet to it’s height each year. Steeplechase is a Green Giant’ hybrid arborvitae. It has a far more dense, fuller habit, with foliage more feathery and finely cut. It is dense to the tip, unlike its ‘Green Giant’ parent. It is both more narrow and shorter growing than ‘Green Giant’.
