The Phoenix Tears Goji Berry (Lyceum barbarum) is a multi-stemmed deciduous shrub. Branches are simple but supportive enough to support many pounds of ripened berries. Berries are small, light violet-colored flowers that produce fruit appear in late spring on plant stems that are at least two years old. Fruits are high in nutrients, with carotene levels higher than found in carrots. Berries ripen over a long period in mid-summer, with up to four weeks of harvest, berries are sweet flavor with slight acidity. A cold and drought-tolerant variety.
